RiverWalk of Hope Facebook Fan Page Is Up!
Welcome back and thanks as always for stopping in. We are moving right along with The Westchester RiverWalk of Hope fundraiser. Yesterday I managed to setup our Facebook fan page, along with a paypal donation button on both my blog, and the fan page itself.
In Facebook I originally started off by creating an event. As we have evolved, setting up a group became necessary. Now we are a page because to streamline the donation process, RSVP, vote on the charity to support, and collaborate on other group decisions I realized we needed far greater flexibility.
I’m also talking with a few hosting companies to see if any of them would be willing to provide a domain name and hosting so we could go ahead and launch a microsite to spread the word. Still waiting to hear back from Westchester.gov on the trail maps I requested, but I will make sure to keep all hikers posted.
I have decided to extend the vote on what charity we will be supporting until the end of next week. A formal announcement on the group’s decision will be made Friday, March 12th at 5:00pm. Even if you can’t make the hike on May 29th this project is totally open participation. We take suggestions and feedback from everyone and allow all fans to take part in our decision-making process.
Please help us spread the word by telling your friends and people you think might be interested in being a part of the event by sending them to our fan page.
If there is anything you would like to do, provide, or assist with in making this event happen please let us know. We welcome you to our community, and look forward to working together in providing much needed aid to Haitian orphans.
